Meetings

To report developments following my last post... I didn't get the branch manager position this time around. Not surprising since I've only actually been in the branch for about 2 months. I did have a very good conversation with the regional market manager though. Good times... I promise to have an informative amd exciting update soon! I'm still getting settled in. It's a good life with an awesome wife.

Doing Business

Hey all. If you think about it say a quick prayer for me as I meet with our regional market manager tommorrow about an opportunity to move to a branch manager position at Commerce Bank. This position would bring me closer to home along with several other benefits. I promise I'll have more time to update later!

Love you guys...

Goodbye...

I am faced with a problem. Due to some concern and criticism expressed about this blog and resulting limitations placed on my web usage, I am afraid that I will need to stop updating this site for the foreseeable future. It pains me deeply to do so as I have felt a strong sense of community in relating to all of you. Each of you who are my xanga friends are such colorful, wonderful people. I wish very much that I could have the opportunity to meet all of you. As I leave I want to give you something that will hopefully impact your view on life. This is something I wrote especially for this blog entry.

A friend of mine named Ron was nearing the end of his life. As he looked back over the things he had done and the goals he had accomplished he became very sad.  But the things he thought about weren’t the things he placed value on throughout his life. He thought about his first job and his aspirations to reach the head of his company. But it wasn’t the fact that he had achieved his goal that stood out to him. Rather he remembered the people he met and the wonderful experiences he had had. He remembered Joe, his faithful employee. Always unassuming and seemingly undriven to improve his position in the company. At first he had seen Joe as a loser, incompetent, and unmotivated. But over the years he had come to see another side to the picture. Any time an opportunity came up for promotion Joe would always recommend one of his co-workers as a more suitable candidate. As Joe saw his co-workers being promoted one by one he would take a close interest in their progress and attend all of their commemorative banquets and ceremonies. Joe had never left his position on the warehouse floor. His life seemed useless and pointless to Ron. But he was always there, always happy, and always ready to listen to people’s problems and complaints. Joe hadn’t retired because he couldn’t afford to, and as his health wavered and failed he would still come into work day after day. One day as Joe was working he fell over, dead of a heart attack. Thousands of people attended his funeral, CEO’s of large corporations, co-workers Joe had recommended and promoted, not one eye was dry as the preacher read the eulogy. Suddenly a man whose life had seemed to be useless and purposeless was colorful vibrant and full of purpose. Joe was a man who truly understood what it meant to give selflessly. Joe’s life had spoken deeply to Ron. As Ron related to me Joe’s story I had to wonder, “What are the things I place value on in life? What are my aspirations?” Joe’s life was a gift that kept on giving, and I hope I can pass a little bit of that gift on to you. I’m sure Joe would want it that way.

Live Richly

Love Deeply

Give Selflessly

Hope Endlessly

Your life is a gift.

Your future is an adventure.

Follow your heart, do what is good and well.

If you must make the best decision you will never make a decision.

Live the best you can, but don’t forget to live.

Your life is a gift, don’t throw it away.

My love to you I love…   Nate

I am very afraid that I am becoming something I always despised in other dating couples. I am becoming concentrated on my girl friend and losing touch with my other friends. Hmmm.... Only I don't despise it. I love it! I will do my best to maintain touch with you all. You mean a lot to me and I would hate to lose touch with you. Check out the pictures of us together on her site!

As a master of progressive blogging...

Here is a song that was running through my head this morning. I really like how simply stated it is.

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round?
On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found.

Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away?
In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they.

Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?
Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.

Peace, perfect peace, death shadowing us and ours?
Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers.

It is enough: earth’s struggles soon shall cease,
And Jesus call us to Heaven’s perfect peace.
